We regret the mulberry taffeta shown in this gown is no longer available. Please view our new selections of taffeta, satin and jacquards below |
The reign of Louis XIV King of France and French Renaissance was a rich and elaborate time period. Ladies and gentlemen clothing was richly ornate with frills and satin bows. Everyone in the aristocrat circle wore powdered wigs, and lots of lace. The gowns were worn with a full corset so there was no boning in the actual gowns, hoop skirts known as a panniers were worn ( an elliptical hoopskirt which actually went side to side rather than round like the Elizabethan and modern styles) My version of this allows for modern hoopskirt or traditional pocket hoops or pannier. Starting at just $499.
To complete your gown we have the perfect accessories available: The wig ($95 or $140) and marabou peacock feather fan ($45), 4 bone hop skirt ($75) or side pocket hoops ($100) are available as optional accessories. |

The sleeve ruffle is made of taffeta and is trimmed with two layers of 4" delicate lace and a 1/2 inch braided trim. |
The gown has a second taffeta skirt that is attached to the bodice of the gown, allowing you to swag the gown with stick pins or jewel pins or leave it down. |
The back of the gown, has 1/2 braided trim
and has a back closure of grommets. We can add a modesty panel if
desired.
